When on vacation or traveling places, it is crucial to be prepared in case of any emergency. You never know what could get stolen, go wrong, or need if something happens when you are away from home. I think that it is much better to be overly prepared instead of underprepared when it comes to vacation challenges or emergencies.
These are some essential items every individual should have in case of an emergency:
- Personal Identification: Carrying your passport, driver’s license, or other necessary identification documents ensure that you can do things and travel on trips. It would also be advised to have photographic copies on your in case you lose one of them.
- Extra Cash/An Emergency Card: Keeping extra emergency cash or a specific emergency card with you on trips could be beneficial in case your cards are lost or stolen or you don’t have the funds for something you need.
- Emergency Contacts: A list of emergency contacts saved in your phone or in a physical copy on you can be helpful if you are alone and someone needs to call someone. You never know what might happen, and it is best to be prepared with this information.
- Water/Snacks: Carrying water and snacks with you during traveling times makes sure you stay hydrated and energized if an unexpected delays occur or emergencies.
- Local Emergency Information: Having the local numbers and contact information of authorities helps make me feel safe the entire trip. I know what no matter what I can contact someone for assistance in any emergency.
- First Aid Kit: For any basic aid kit, you should include bandages, antiseptic wipes, pain relievers, tape, and medications you might need for pain or sickness.
- Sewing Kit: A small sewing kit can be super helpful in case of a tear or a rip of clothing. Two needles and a few basic colors can help ensure that you are always fashionable on your vacations.
- Flashlight: A flashlight could be useful on different activities, if any power goes out and you want to save your phone battery, or just help keep you at peace of mind.
- Entertainment Activities/Games: This is highly important for anyone traveling with children or individuals that need attention often. I know that my family and I can get bored easily if we have to weight for something, so this can help us especially if we are in traffic!
- Travel Insurance: This can cover medical emergencies, trip cancellations, lost luggage, and more on trips. It is definitely something to look into and consider.
