Traveling to London is such an exciting experience. Everything in this city is super clean and elegant. The shops and attractions to see in the city are endless and each attraction has a beautiful story with it. Exploring can make individuals very hungry and some of the London restaurants are amazing, if you go to the right places!
When going to any new country or city, individuals always want to see the top things and eat at the best restaurants. All throughout London there are delicious restaurants for you to choose from. Some restaurants are more popular than others, which draws more tourists into them, but there are plenty of restaurants to try in each section of London.
After all the research my family and I did before our vacation, we were able to eat at each restaurant we wanted to. Whether it was a brunch spot, an adorable marketplace, or a lovely dinner restaurant, London has some really great food places to eat at!
Rise, Shine, and Dine
Mimos Cafe This is a super cute Italian cafe to grab a bite at, in London. Located in Paddington, this place is full of wonderful cuisine options to choose from. Not only do they provide typical Italian options, but Mimos offers an everyday full English breakfast as well. My brother and I stumbled upon this place after we got off the plane from New York, we were starving and needed food before we could sleep a little. Everything was delicious and needed! This is a great place to eat breakfast or grab an afternoon Italian meal in Paddington.
Eggbreak This is one of the cutest restaurants we went to in London. First of all, Eggbreak is located in the most adorable little neighborhood called Notting Hill. The houses near the restaurant area are all colored fun and bright pastels. It was a great spot for a photoshoot! Secondly, the food is to die for! We waited outside on the line (which you really cannot avoid with this place) and it was more than worth it. Every option on the menu was so good; we each got something different because we wanted to try as many options as possible. From their beautifully crafted drinks to every breakfast option on the menu this place is a must stop when in London.
Duck and Waffle Want a place to grab brunch and see a gorgeous view? Duck and Waffle is the place to be. This British and European cuisine restaurant is located inside the Salesforce Tower in the City of London and does not disappoint. While it does require a reservation, a huge bonus of this restaurant is that they are open 24/7, so any time you want to make a reservation you can. The view looking outside is stunning; you are able to look out upon the London Bridge and entire City of London. Definitely make a reservation at this place because it is so worth it.
Fun Marketplaces
Borough Market I loved this spot. It is one of the cutest marketplaces I have been too with endless options. Borough Market is located on the London Eye side of the river and near the London Bridge. Underneath the trains and subways is this wonderful world of food and drinks. Everywhere you look in this market is a new cuisine and flavor of food. There was fresh fish caught that day, chocolate covered strawberries in cups, and margaritas all in the same vicinity of each other. This marketplace is a must if being anywhere near London because everything tastes amazing and the place itself is super cute!
Broadway Market Located in the opposite direction of Borough Market, Broadway Market is in the town of Hackney. It is best known for its street style market, which attracts a lot of locals for fresh foods and delicious snacks. The marketplace is also near a small river, which is cute to walk beside after having some great foods from the market. With all the fresh produce and hand-crafted items, this market is a great place to stop by.
The Ultimate Pub Experience
The Monkey Puzzle One of our favorite local pubs we drank at. This was located a block away from where we were staying in Paddington and we stopped multiple times at this pub to grab a drink before our dinners. Not only was it a great place to stop at, but the outside was very pretty, surrounded by flowers and large plants it was a great vibe to be part of. I absolutely loved The Monkey Puzzle and think it’s a cute place to stop at if you are in the area.
The Red Lion On Parliament Street, right down the street from Big Ben, The Red Lion is located. This pub was the first we went to after we rested up from our flight and headed out to see some sights on our first day in London. We were walking down the street and saw the crowds outside the bar drinking beers, ciders, and wine. We stopped immediately and had to join in, it looked like such a fun experience that locals do everyday which we wanted to be part of. I think that this is a great place to experience your first pub in London!
Churchill Arms Pub A gorgeous pub filled with hundreds and hundreds of flowers on the outside of the building and great beer on the inside. The Churchill Arms pub is located in Kensington and offers a great place to stop on the way to visiting Kensington Palace. Not only is it a great place to get a drink, but it is a gorgeous outdoor photo spot.
Elevate Your Dinner Experience in London
The Wolseley Oh my, this place was AMAZING! With a black and white scenic vibe, you feel like you are going back in time to the 1950s. This restaurant has lots of seating options and I definitely would say a reservation is need, because of how nice this place is. Since this restaurant is located right in Piccadilly it can be a great spot to eat at after a day of touring London. The food is beyond amazing. The fish my brother and dad had was super fresh and full of flavor, meanwhile the steaks my mom and I had were super juicy and perfectly cooked. We each had to get a dessert because the meal was so amazing we wanted more food from their chefs. Definitely need to get dinner at this place when in London.
Sartoria A modern styled Italian restaurant that has wonderfully tasty flavors for you to enjoy. Satoria was mentioned by multiple top ranking cuisine individuals as places you must stop at. A reservation is required here but beyond worth it. Open all day long, this restaurant is located in Soho and a definite must eatery in London.
The Swan Another wonderful dinner restaurant to eat at, The Swan is located right outside Hyde Park. My family and I spent the afternoon walking around Hyde Park and seeing Kensington Palace and this was a perfectly close restaurant to eat dinner at. With typical English style pub food everything was great to try and delicious to taste. The entire restaurant is very chill and the food was great!
La Mia Mamma Wow! This was one of the best meals we had on our trip. Being Italian and researching all kinds of restaurants my mom really wanted to try this spot in which real Italian mammas come from Italy to cook homemade fresh pasta for months at a time. The Mammas were offering a limited Italian appetizer spread which we tried as soon as the waiter explained it. It was all the delicious appetizers every Italian could dream of, and it was all SO GOOD. We each then got the homemade fresh pasta option that they were offering and it was delicious. I wish it was normal to ask for seconds at a restaurant because believe me we all would have! Definitely find time to fit in this restaurant spot.
So many people travel to London for the sights and attractions. Meanwhile the food is just as amazing as everything else you plan to do in London. I think that sometimes the London restaurants are underrated and they deserve more credit for their deliciousness!
